Serbia

 

It seems that the fall of communism had brought no New World Order, nor a peace dividend. War has ravaged the Balkans for many years, and Serbia only recently emerged from a conflict with its neighbours and NATO.

Since then, however, Serbia (one of two remaining states which make up the Federation of Yugoslavia) has embarked on a course of political and economic reform. Donor nations are rushing in to help Serbia to recover economically, and to eventually join the European club.
